One of the Boys is an American sitcom television series that aired on NBC from January 23 to April 24, 1982. It starred Mickey Rooney, Dana Carvey, Nathan Lane, and Scatman Crothers. It has never been released officially or been aired in reruns; until recently it became available on a Canadian streaming service.
Oliver Nugent (Mickey Rooney) was a spry senior citizen, who, along with his friend, Bernard Solomon (Scatman Crothers) leave their nursing home, and move in with his college-aged grandson, Adam Shields (Dana Carvey), who is attending Sheffield College in New Jersey, and his roommate, Jonathan Burns (Nathan Lane). Also involved is Adam's girlfriend, Jane (Meg Ryan) and their landlady, Mrs. Green (Francine Beers), who is more than entranced with Oliver.
There are 13 episodes, which includes the unaired pilot. The quality is very good, and these were not recorded from TV. They were taken from an online streaming service, so the quality is excellent. Please note that these are not in full HD, but are very good and very enjoyable. ALSO there is a CTV logo in the bottom right side of the picture (barely noticeable) throughout the episodes. Please see screen captures for an idea of the quality.
